La Crosse

Bat removal in La Crosse gets crazy some times! I have to admit that those are the sneekiest bats I have ever delt with. It seems that all the wildlife in Lacrosse is a little wilder than the rest of  the areas in Wisconsin where I have had a request to get bats out.

If you have other animals causing you grief, we can handle that for you too! Just click on the link and I’ll take you there!

Attic spaces get infestations of little browns. I am not an exterminator. The work I do is more considered rescue of animal and occupant. I do however, choose to defend my own species. If I can get the issue resolved humanely, I will. Bats are one of the ones where I have that part figured out. We dont have vampire bats here, but some people still have a fear of them. Thats understandable, as there is still the threat of rabies, and other transmittable diseases. And the irritating noises they make every morning with there scratching and clawing as they roost in walls or attic areas. Every now and then you may get  a bat  in the house. Thats probobly a baby bat, one that got lost. Guano is the next issue to deal with. Although animal control usually sounds like the trapping part, we also clean up whats left behind! We are not a pest control company. We use absolutely no poision.

We service the following and more! Holman, Onalaska, Westby, Veroqua, Sparta, Tomah, Black River Falls

The La Crosse area has such a beautiful and unique landscape, mainly due to the lack of glacier activity during the ice age. The cliffs made of Granite, and jagged bluffs still exist, where as most of the rest of the state has been mowed flat after centuries of grinding and pushing from glacers hundreds of feet thick. and centuries later, French explorers and fur traders in 1680 saw the Winnebago Indians playing a game with long handled rackets looking like crosses. It turns out that we still play a game similar to it today!

La Crosse county was a booming area back in the early 1800s. Lumber was cut from the seemingly endless supply of  trees, then made into crude rafts, which were floated down the Mississippi River to be taken apart by the buyers and used as building material in Milwaukee and other big cities growing quickly at the time. By the end of the century the railroad took over as the main method of moving materials and products from the La Crosse area. When the timber industry went caput, La Crosse became a major Brewery Town! There were seven breweries in a single county, and the product was shipped all over the state of Wisconsin! That was a major deal back in the day!

Onalaska is the “Sunfish Capitol of the World” with sunfish, bluegills, perch, walleye, sauger, and catfish being taken by angelers each day, Onalaska is a fishermans paradise!

Let me go over a few things you may not have known about bats . First of all, I would like to clear up the myth about bats chasing women to get in there hair. I have been doing bat removals for 12 years now, and Ive never seen it happen. Bats are not rodents, flying rats, or mice with wings. They are closely related to primates in bone structure. And have a remarkable life span. They live up to 30 years I am told by many bat professionals.

Bats breed in fall and give birth in spring time. One pup or two are born, and 6 weeks later they take wing chasing bugs and scooting around in the moonlight. In the bats first year it will make some mistakes. Bats sometimes go in houses by accident, flying arround the rooms looking for a way out, then finally stopping to rest in the corner or on the curtains. These are mistakes baby bats make.
